From early code, algorithms and computer graphics to today’s proliferating applications, humanity has watched computing technology rocket upward in only a few decades. Artificial intelligence, in particular, is hailed as the biggest “variable” in the future world. We stand on the eve of a new technological revolution; every experiment and debate about AI is, in effect, a scenario drill for humanity’s future survival.

The exhibition Spanning Six Decades: The Creative Spark of AI presents six decades of cross-disciplinary innovation in AI art from multiple angles, and such boundary-crossing is happening in every field. Yuval Noah Harari, author of Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind, similarly draws on practices and reflections from technology, philosophy, and art in his new book Nexus: A Brief History of Information Networks from the Stone Age to AI, prompting universal contemplation about AI’s future development.

How exactly does human creativity differ from machine creativity?

How will increasingly intelligent AI transform human life?

What mental and practical preparations should we make for digital existence ahead?

In this forum, cross-disciplinary guests and curators will begin with the fusion of art and technology, highlighting key issues for future digital survival and opening up new imaginative possibilities.
