泰康保险集团是国内最早开展当代艺术收藏的金融企业。在源自“泰康空间”的“以历史观的方法看待、研究当代艺术”的收藏理念下，致力于收藏中国近现代艺术的关键面貌。至今已初步建立起一个颇具美术史意义与规模的艺术品收藏系统，其中不乏相关美术史发展阶段的标志性作品和代表艺术家的重要作品。
泰康收藏既聚焦十九世纪下半叶的早期中国摄影，二十世纪三十年代中国的现代绘画、建国后兴起的社会主义现实主义艺术或其他艺术形式，也囊括改革开放以来当代艺术中的节点性作品和当下最受关注的新艺术实践，同时珍视相应历史时期艺术档案的收集和建档。多年来，依托泰康空间的展览、公共活动、研究与出版等实践的反哺，泰康收藏业已成为在艺术生产上拥有可持续生命力的有机体，为理解中国近当代艺术提供更多可能性和方案，进一步推动艺术生产和行业发展。
2015年，泰康收藏作为中国大陆唯一案例，与JP摩根集团、瑞银集团、德意志银行、卡地亚集团、安盛保险等国际著名企业收藏一起，被收录进德意志标准出版社 《全球企业收藏》一书。
